  1. Beautiful work,Jan.

As you know, I have a little animal pen from Grand Manner here. In order to paint it in similar colours, would you be so kind to give me your recipes for the plaster work and wood as well as the roof?? That way we could keep them in harmony.

  2. Not that easy...I mixed a lot of colours and washed some parts of the plaster with devlan mud. But I´ll try.
Roof: Burnt Umber-Buff Leather A- Buff Leather A+ VMC Ivory-more Ivory and finally pure Ivory.
Wood: Dark African Flesh A- DA Flesh B with some VMC Khaki and Bleached Boe mixed in - more and more Bleached Bone.
Plaster: Any earthy colour goes (browns, ochres, offwhites, Foundry Rawhide etc.)
    Hope that helps a bit..

  3. Yeah, it does! :) I think if I keep the roof in a similar colour it'll look quite harmonious. Now I know what colours I should work with.

  5. I really like this, and must build a simialr raised storehouse for my own Dark Ages village.

Great job, your roof method works well. I have been using teddy bear fur, similarly soaked in PVA. You could try that for some variety. See how mine came out here:
